A Midwesterner's Guide To Raleigh |
"Whether I'm teaching piano lessons, ringing handbells at church, volunteering for school functions, or working with my real estate clients, I know helping others is an integral part of who I am."
Born: Cedar Falls, Iowa
Family: Husband, Mike and Children, Michal, Adam, and Karissa
Home(s): A modest ranch home with daylight basement in Old Cary (and other homes that are currently rented in Cary and West Raleigh).
Education: BA Biology/Education. I love to put my "teaching" skills to use in real estate. With so many changes in our industry, there are always new angles to be learned in order to compete and win a buying or selling encounter.
Hobbies: Anything musical - especially piano and handbell related; real estate investing and remodeling - we have flipped, restored, and rented multiple properties; golf - when I have time; family - being there to support the kids in all of their adventures; a cold drink on a warm beach with good friends and family.
Favorite Music: Classical Jazz, Blues, Country and Rock from the James Taylor era.
Loves: Family and Friends, church activities, a good party, my husband's cooking, Irish Creme and coffee.
Advice to Newcomers: Get involved with some sort of small group activity. The people you get to know there will become lifelong friends. Take time to watch your kids grow, or learn a new hobby. Enjoy the spring flowers, the Summer for the pool and beach time, the Fall for the mountains and hiking, and the Winter for a family movie with the fireplace going.
Funny thought: Although North Carolina touts it's "First in Flight" phrase, I often joke that they better be good at flight, because the drivers are "dead last"!
